Cop shot in Spanish Town

October 10, 2016

A policeman has been rushed to the University Hospital of West Indies for injuries he received during an alleged confrontation with gunmen earlier today.

Reports are that the policeman was part of a team that confronted gunmen near Dunbeholden in St Catherine when he was shot.

The cop was rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital but was later transferred to the UHWI.

Today's shooting in Spanish Town follows a major bloodbath in the old capital on Sunday morning when five people were killed in an area known as Africa in the March Pen Road community.
