Birthday boy Chris Martin will spend a great part of today cooling out with his family and a few friends.

"I'm not really big on celebrating birthdays," said the artiste who was born on Valentine's Day in 1987.

Now 30 years old, the Big Deal singer, said his birthday has thus far been a good one.

"It's been cool though, it's been a nice vibe. I always get a lot of messages, a lot of love. Sometimes I hear from people I haven't heard from the whole year on my birthday, so it's a nice vibe," Martin said.

In his usual style of keep celebrations low-key, Chris is hosting a small, intimate listening party for his album, Big Deal, which was released last Friday.

"It's not gonna be one of the regular lunches," Martin's manager, Kingy, told The STAR.

"Because it's around Valentine's there will be chocolate, wine and strawberries. It's gonna be very cozy and by a poolside. It's more like a party," he said.

The award winning artiste recently released his album, Big Deal, which is already at number one on the Billboard Reggae Charts in Japan.

Martin will be performing some songs from his new album at Red Roses for Gregory tonight. That show will be held at the Jamaica College auditorium in Kingston starting at 8pm.
