Danville Walker has been found guilty of breaching the Contractor General's Act.

The former Customs boss, who now heads the Jamaica Observer, was found guilty in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court today.

The case against Walker stems from an allegation that while he was the commissioner of customs he breached the Contractor General Act by not providing, in a timely manner, requested information during a probe by the contractor general into the exportation of scrap metal during a ban.

He has been sentenced to $5,000 or14 days imprisonment.
