May 10, 2017

Husane Dormer, a Portland resident who used a machete to chop a woman to death six years ago, has been sentenced to eight years imprisonment.

Dormer was sentenced in the St Catherine Circuit Court on Tuesday for the death of Gloria Prince of Port Antonio, Portland.

Justice David Fraser, in handing down the sentence, said he took into consideration the fact that Dormer pleaded guilty.

In May of 2011, Dormer chopped the deceased repeatedly. She died from injuries received.
