JPS investigating death of two men in Negril

Investigations are now under way into a situation involving two men who were riding on a motorbike, in the Westland Mountain community of Negril, when they reportedly came into contact with an electrical wire and subsequently died.

The men have been identified as 20-year-old Oshane Powell of West End, Negril and 19-year-old Renaldo Johnson of Westland Mountain.

In a release, the Jamaica Public Service said it regrets the unfortunate loss of life in any circumstance and wished to express condolences to the families.

The company is also presently working with members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force as they work to bring calm to the area, as well as access to the community. 

JPS said as soon as access is available, its teams are on standby to restore electricity and to continue the investigation into the matter.
