R Embassida asks 'Why?'

Reggae artiste R Embassida has scored a bonafide hit with his single, 'Why?'

The song has been getting regular rotation on HITZ, RJR and IRIE FM, and peaked at number two for nine weeks on the FIWI Choice Top-10 countdown charts on TVJ earlier this week.

Based on the strength and popularity of the single, he has landed a regular gig as an opening act for Sizzla Kalonji, performing on shows around the island.

"I have opened for Sizzla on several shows. I did it for one month straight over the summer as he hosted several shows in August Town. I performed in Byrce Hill, River, all over August Town, it was a great experience and I have to thank Sizzla for the opportunity," the artiste, born Christopher Williams, said.

R Embassida also earned rave reviews for his appearances on shows in Blackwoods, Clarendon, and Braes River, St Elizabeth.

"Mi bun down round deh! The people dem love the energy and the force mi a come with onstage. I have put in a lot of work, and it is time to push my career to the next level," he said.

He recently distributed more than 8,000 CDs of his Why mixtape all over Jamaica, as well as the tri-state area in the USA.

"I am getting a decent buzz in New Jersey, Philadelphia and in the tri-state area with the songs from the mixtape," he said.

"I am representing for righteousness in music, in livity, in philosophy. Ah just cleanliness and uprightness mi a represent, right over wrong, equal rights and justice."
