Deejay chopped in machete attack
St Mary-based artiste and Internet sensation Honest Cat is nursing injuries he received from a machete-wielding attacker in the parish early Sunday morning.
A man, armed with a machete, chopped Honest Cat on his chin, resulting in the entertainer having to seek medical attention. Information reaching THE STAR is that the deejay was attacked while coming from a stage show in Islington.
The attacker is believed to have been drunk.
"Mi a go home and a little man tried to start an altercation, and him keep on a push it. I never want this because I have my career to continue," Honest Cat told THE STAR. "Him attack mi with a cutlass. Mi affi jump over a wire fence fi get away from him and mi get a scratch on my back."
The Highgate police confirmed that the matter was reported and an investigation is underway.
Honest Cat gained popularity late last year after he took verbal shots at Gully Bop while performing at a stage show in the parish. The performance began making the rounds online, and since then, several other videos of him have also gone viral.
