Fiwi Scheme party set for today
House of Strength Records has collaborated with promoter-model Renniel Hartley to host a back-to-school event at Cooreville Gardens Basketball Court titled Fiwi Scheme.
The event, scheduled for today, will carry a party and stage show element. Patrons will be treated to a variety of Jamaican foods, including curried lobster, curried goat, jerk pork, jerk chicken and conch soup, among other dishes.
Fiwi Scheme is planned as a day and, night event and will feature football and netball games during the day. However, at nightfall, patrons will be treated to performances from Lutan Fyah, Potential Kidd, and Specialist, among other recording artistes.
Speaking with The WEEKEND STAR, Hartley said the event is family-oriented. "We will have a lot of giveaways for the kids as well as entertainment like rides and water slides. There will also be netball and football competitions so we are looking forward to have people turn out for that," she said.
The event starts at 10 a.m. and concludes at 2 a.m. Music will be provided by Imperial, Earthlink sound, Teddy Lee and Fire K, among others.
