Negril promoter plans hotel reunion party
With over two decades of experience, party promoter Owen 'Showmax' Haye is one of the most prolific event organisers in Negril.
His Showmax Entertainment Company is known for staging some of the most exciting party events in the tourist resort town, including Body 'n' Souls and Hickey.
Haye is also one of the founding members of the annual Negril Easter Weekend party series Negril Great Escape.
The veteran promoter is currently working on one of his most ambitious projects to date, the first Lido Negril All-White Reunion Party.
This event is the brainchild of Haye and a group of colleagues, all former employees of the Grand Lido Negril All-inclusive hotel, which closed its doors in April 2015.
"After the closure of the hotel, I noticed that a lot of former staff and guests were commenting on social media how much they missed the place. Being a former employee of the hotel myself, I decided to reach out to a group of my old colleagues, and after a few discussions, we came up with the idea to put on this reunion event," said Haye.
The party, set for December 16, will be an all-inclusive, all-white event at the Negril Hills Golf Club.
"Everyone who has shared in the Grand Lido experience knows that the hotel was a five-star hotel that provided first-class service. That's why it was so famous. So you know the Lido Negril party will be a first-class event," said the promoter.
