Businessman Lester 'Father Ken' Crooks and his team from Ken's Wildflower Entertainment Hub in Portmore will host a Big Independence Street Dance at the venue's parking lot in Bayside, Portmore, on Monday, August 7.

"Patrons are being asked to wear their national colours and come and celebrate Jamaica's Independence with us," Crooks told THE WEEKEND STAR.

The rich history of street dances in Portmore goes back over 30 years ago when the original Bayside Plaza was located at the site of the Faith Temple New Testament Church.

The musical presentations will be by Flava Unit and Klassique Sound Systems.
