Christopher Martin to host back-to-school treat
Following a successful staging in 2015, the Christopher Martin Foundation is gearing up to host their back-to-school treat and concert for the second time.
Set for September 1 at the Watermount Primary School, the event, titled 'It's A Big Deal', will be a collaborative effort between the entertainer and a few of his friends from corporate Jamaica. More than 200 children from the community are expected to be treated to much-needed school supplies at the event.
Aside from the school treats, children are expected to be treated to a day of fun and excitement as the entertainment package includes face-painting, balloon artistry, bounce-a-bout, as well as other fun rides and activities.
According to the foundation, the event is free and is one the artiste is looking forward to hosting.
In a release sent to THE STAR, the foundation described the event as an 'amazing and uplifting' one for the community of Watermount, and noted that the day will be all about the children.
With that said, while refreshments will be on sale at the event, children will eat and drink for free. The proceeds made from sales to the adults on the day will be donated to the Watermount Primary School.
The treat is set to begin at 10 a.m. and end at 5 p.m., while the concert begins at 6 p.m. and continues until midnight.
