Lanz ready to 'leggo' talent on Rising Stars stage
Rising dancehall artiste Lanz will get a major career boost as he has been confirmed as one of the acts to perform on the climax of this season's Digicel Rising Stars competition on TVJ on Sunday.
"I am really excited about the upcoming performance because it is further evidence that my song, She Nah Leggo, is one of the hottest songs in the island right now, and that it has hit the mainstream in a real way," Lanz said.
She Nah Leggo was produced by the multitalented artiste/producer Lanz himself and Andrew Reid, and was released on the Unisyz Muzik/Ubique Muzyq label. It is currently enjoying a huge buzz on the local party scene, and getting heavy rotation on most local radio stations. Plus, a video for the song has hit the 100,000 mark on YouTube.
"The song is getting a lot of support in the streets. My team and I are working overtime to promote it as it was one of the hottest songs this summer, and it is only getting bigger," Lanz said.
The hard-working deejay, who lists Bounty Killer, Vybz Kartel and Tarrus Riley among his musical influences, is gearing up for The Release Innovation Challenge community college school tour, which begins on October 11. He is already booked to perform at a show in December in Westmoreland, as well as a couple of shows in the UK in February 2018.
"My management team is in discussions for a tour with a major pop artiste in November in Canada, but that is not finalised, he said.
Lanz, who real name is Orlando Francis, was born and raised in Mandeville, Manchester.
He got his first taste of success in the music business in 2012 when he produced Potential Kid's hit single, A Yah So Nice.
