Audiences are raving about the performance of actress Crystal Fletcher in the new TV series Wah Sweet Nanny Goat, which is broadcast on TVJ every Saturday.

The talented Crystal Fletcher plays the character Angel, the child of Janet, one of the principal characters.

She said that the role was a challenging one.

"It has been challenging for me. I had to show a range of emotions for this role. For most of the scenes, I am emotional because I got pregnant, and my mother had high expectations for me in church and in academics, but I have a split personality, displaying different behaviours at home, at school, and again, with my boyfriend," she said.

The five-part mini-series climaxed last Saturday.

GREAT IMPACT

"So far, a lot of people have been coming up to me saying they identify with the character, and it had an impact on them. At the theatre, a number of students came up to me afterwards and said they felt it, and it was too real. At my school, one lab tech came to me and told me that I made him cry," she said, laughing

Fletcher is currently reading for a degree in computer science at the University of Technology. The talented Fletcher is also an extra on the popular Real Friends series on TVJ.

It was during her final year of at St Hugh's High School for Girls that she auditioned and became a member of the cast of the production Bashment Granny 3, where her professional acting career began.

Born March 31, 1996, Fletcher grew up in Central Village, Spanish Town. Throughout her time at St Catherine Primary and St Hugh's High, she won awards in the performing arts. She is also known for playing the flirtatious, precocious 14-year-old character of Deandra in the play Not My Child.
