Fresh King eager to make mark in dancehall
Fast-rising dancehall artiste Fresh King is ready to make his mark on the music scene, as he is currently riding a wave of popularity in the parish of Manchester where he is based.
Originally from Seaview Gardens in Kingston, it was during his teenage years that he discovered music and began knocking different beats on desks while performing for his schoolmates. Encouraged by family and friends, he decided to pursue his musical aspirations.
Fresh King, whose real name is Rohan Clearly, recorded his first song, titled Watch It Eno, for Mandeville-based label Zionnoiz Freeze Records.
"Watch It Eno was well-received by the public," the 20-year-old entertainer said.
Fresh King's other recordings include Brem My Boss (produced by K Swizz), Guh Hard (Brain Freeze Records), Choppa featuring Kahsion (World Bank Records), Clarkes Pon Foot, and Your Time Will Come featuring Wung.
"It has been extremely great so far, a little ups and downs, but I am enjoying it," he said.
The artiste is also confident that he possesses the qualities to make him stand out in the industry.
"I have a new style and image, creativity, and most definitely the kind of music that will have the world talking about Fresh King constantly," he said.
"The sky is the limit at this very moment. I don't look at accomplishments in life because my journey in music and life don't have any limitations," he added.
