'Steamy', the collaboration between former members of the Portmore Empire, Jahvinci and Popcaan, has been growing in popularity since its release early March.

The song, which signalled a reunion of sorts between both entertainers, has amassed over two million views on YouTube to date.

Speaking with The STAR, Jahvinci explained that the song came about from a simple vibe session between them and says he is not surprised it has become a favourite in the streets.

"Me and Popcaan never drop the link no matter what, from day one. Last month, I called to ask how he was doing and him said I should link at his house and hold a vibes, and we up de; and knowing that we can always find the hits, it just happen naturally 'cause we a family, and the song voice and tek off," Jahvinci said.

In the past, the two have teamed up to drop hits like Life Lost and Home. However, Steamy is the first 'collab' they have done in more than five years.

Fans have praising the effort via their comments on YouTube.

Popcaan's VEVO channel has been flooded with comments asking the two to do more work together, pointing out that as proteges of Vybz Kartel, any effort put out by the pair will be hit-bound. "Gaza pickney them link up head a steam. It's a hit already," one user said.

While Steamy continues to gain popularity in the streets, Jahvinci is looking to seal his comeback with another effort. He is promoting the single Day One on the Up Top rhythm.
