Franq Nitti and I-Quey remake classic
Dancehall artiste Franq Nitti has teamed up with fellow artiste I-Quey to put a unique spin on a classic hit with the release of his latest single, 'Hit The Road Jack'.
The song is a rendition of the 1960s original by Ray Charles. It was released earlier this year, simultaneously with the accompanying visual, which has been gaining traction on YouTube.
Produced by Paradox Musiq Entertainment, Nitti has been receiving great feedback on the single so far. The reggae and R&B infused remake was inspired by a long-standing love for the original song.
"My father liked the song and it's a song that I myself loved, so I decided to record my own version," Nitti said.
Aiming for an international appeal, the singer reached out to I-Quey, who adds her own soulful sound to the song's chorus.
"I have known her for a while. I loved her voice so we decided to work together on this track," he added.
With a presence in the music industry that spans more than a decade, Nitti has released various songs over the years, including Even Though with Jah Vinci and Love My Slimmaz, a spin on Style X's Me Love My Fatty.
"I do music from a place of love that people always gravitate towards and can relate to," the singer said.
The singer is currently working on a five-track EP, which is expected to be released later in the year.
Hit The Road Jack is distributed by VPAL Music and is available for purchase and streaming on all major platforms online.
