Boom Boom supports parents' back-to-school efforts
Ace discjock Boom Boom has, through personal funds and donations from sponsors, given dozens of parents back-to-school cash, amounting to more than J$1 million over the summer.
The initiative started from the first week in July at Boom Sundayz and ended last Monday at Uptown Mondayz.
The last presentation of cash to parents surpassed the $100,000 mark at the popular weekly party series, recently held at Savannah Plaza in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew.
He also did similar cash giveaways to patrons with children attending school at weekly parties like Boasy Tuesdayz and Boom Sundayz, where he is a resident selector.
"This summer I made a promise to my loyal patrons, especially the single parents, that I would assist them during a back-to-school campaign. So I reached out to a couple of producers to sponsor the campaign and it went over really well," said Boom Boom.
He added that at the three weekly parties where he plays, he gave parents money totalling between $3,000 and $5,000 per parent, depending on the need. Parents were also given school supplies.
His contribution has not gone unnoticed as the likes of Ding Dong commented: "Yoo yah di greatest" on his official Instagram page.
"Boom Boom look how much of them have more than you and you are doing more than them youth big of you damn self," said another social media user.
