Nothing but 'Big Chune' in New Kingston
Last Saturday night, Chelsea Avenue in New Kingston was alive with the sounds of 'Big Chune'.
Patrons who packed the venue for the party, which promised fun and only the biggest tunes, were not disappointed, as DJ Narity, DJ Alley, DJ Smilez and Team Shella had the venue buzzing with excitement all night long.
The patrons showed their approval for songs such as Buju Banton's Champion and Sizzla's Nah Apologise by banging on the metal containers in the venue.
As the site rattled with excitement, the selectors continued to pour on the intoxicating vibe with Mavado's Starboy, Beenie Man's Heart Attack, Vybz Kartel's Like A Movie and Cham's Ghetto Story, before pleasing patrons with soca hits.
Big Chune, a '90s to 2000s party, was conceptualised by Sheldon Cuff and David Francis. Although it is only in its second staging, the promoters hope it will become a staple event.
"It's a great feeling. Our patrons had a grand time and the party was a success. Based on patron support and vibes, it seems Big Chune is set to become a calendar event on the entertainment scene," Cuff said.
