Health centre to benefit from seventh staging of ‘Shellings’
Linval 'Junior' Garriques and Delroy 'Scarry' Lodge have resided in Guys Hill, St Catherine, for many years. They have decided to donate part proceeds from this weekend's staging of Shellings: The Braff N Floss Edition to the Guys Hill Health Centre.
"Growing up in the community, having seen little or no improvement done to the health centre over the years, and based on the discomfort that some patients experience when using the facility, we decided that we would give back and assist in whatever way we can. We are part of the community, and we care about what happens there," Garriques said.
"The facility is also used by our families, and we have a warm relationship with the staff who work there as well."
Shellings will take place on March 23 at the Annex Plaza in Guys Hill. Tommy Lee Sparta, Teejay, Chuck Fenda, Alozade, Yanique the Curvy Diva, Maestro Don, Range, Vijahn, and Sherece are among those slated to perform. Among the sound systems set to provide the musical inferno at Shellings are Stone Love, Fire Links and Bass Odyssey.
"We want to make Shellings one of the best events this side of the island, so we decided to go with the greatest sound systems of all time. We also aim for top acts from the dancehall so as to attract patrons from across the island to our event," Garriques said.
This will be the seventh staging of the event.
