Sister’s murder inspires veteran deejay’s track

Little more than a year after his sister was murdered in Jamaica, UK-based reggae artiste Jimmy Crazy has recorded and released the single ' Jamaica Fi Fix'.

He told THE WEEKEND STAR that he had drifted away from the entertainment scene for approximately 30 years but returned to the studios after the remains of his sibling, Karen Cleary-Brown, were found buried in a shallow grave in Boscobel, St Mary.

"Mi woulda really waan see the man dem stop kill off di woman dem a Jamaica. I am so angry about my sister's death so I just have to take the music for it. It was the only way I could express myself. Jamaica Fi Fix is really self-explanatory ... there is just too much killing and the man dem a take set on the women and children dem," he said.

Cleary-Brown was reported missing on November 27, 2018 by the suspect, who is said to be a caretaker at her premises.

The police say on December 2, inconsistencies were detected in the missing persons' report, causing detectives to widen and intensify their probe.

This led investigators to carry out investigations at the woman's house, where her decomposing body was found in a shallow grave.

"I never intended to do music again and only the Almighty knows how angry I am. Karen was my little baby sister. I am just hoping that this song will touch the hearts of everyone who listens or watches the music video, including the murderers, and them just listen to their conscience and stop the violence. Jamaica is a wonderful place and all of this killing is just tearing us apart," Jimmy Crazy said.

The song's lyrics also take shots at politicians, who he believes do not have the country's best interest at heart.

He also lashed out at the entertainers whose lyrics he believes are leaving a negative imprints on the youths.
