Guidance declares ‘God set me free’
As the death toll from the COVID-19 pandemic mounts and the curfews and shelter-in-place restrictions transform life, many people are starting to feel like inmates in their own homes.
Reggae artiste Guidance has a solution for the pent-up vibe, anxiety and uncertainty plaguing the island with the release of a new song, God Set Me Free.
"Prayer save lives. Father God must set us free from this plague in our lands. Foota Hype come out and say God set him free and the whole world ah sing it. The song ah go hard pon the Internet, you have to call on God in times like these," Guidance said.
Worldwide, the number of infected persons heads to three million, with deaths pushing towards 200,000.
Music to Encourage
He suggested that we should "surround ourselves with music that encourages the presence of God over us."
"(We need) music that reminds us not to fear. Music that leads us to 'the rock that is higher than I', like the good Psalms says. These are serious times, we need music that stills our souls and quiets our worried hearts," Guidance said.
