Dexta Daps teases new album’s tracks
Dancehall's heartthrob Dexta Daps is making sure anticipation is mounting for his upcoming album, by previewing new music in videos.
The first installation, which has been dubbed episode one, was released on Tuesday with accompanying visuals for two tracks, Leave Her Alone and Vent.
In less than 24 hours, views for the video raced to 100,000 on YouTube landing it in the number 10 position on the platform's coveted trending chart. It has since climbed to number eight with views mounting close to 150,000.
In the video, the artiste is seen in a church, seemingly awaiting the arrival of his bride to be. Once the woman arrives and the two are at the altar, he professes his love for her saying 'G irl, I fell for you like the rain'. It seems like the song is about to be an ode to the perfect love story until the entertainer starts to reveal his partner's promiscuous ways. " I thought I could give you my name but you was just f**king me for fame," he continues, shattering the dreams of his wife to be as he leaves her at the altar.
The entertainer goes on to advise young men whose partners may be cheating that it's best to walk away from the relationship than turning to violence.
" She's like fire, bun him like a lighter but don't you beat her no, don't look in her phone ... best thing you do a avoid her. Don't you beat her down, better if you leave her now," he sings.
An exact release date is yet to be given for the release of Daps' album. But in a post made to his official Instagram page shortly after the release of the first episode, confirmed the album would be released this month.
