Music entities form alliance
Kereena Beckford, CEO of Xclusive Management, is serious about the unearthing and development of new talent.
Beckford launched her artiste management company five years ago, and since then, she has managed the career of high-profile dancehall star Alkaline.
Beckford, who is currently enrolled in the entertainment business degree programme at the LA Film School in Los Angeles, recently formed a strategic alliance with record producer Charles Sponge, CEO of Sponge Music. She also recently added three fast-rising dancehall acts to her company's roster.
"I've been working very closely with Charles Sponge over the past few months. We're working together as a team to develop the recording careers of Sashie Cool, Star Captyn and Knaxx," said Beckford. "I'm trying to make Xclusive into one of the top management companies in dancehall music," said Beckford.
Sponge says he is very happy with the partnership between the two companies.
"I feel great about this alliance between my label and Kereena's company. She has a lot of experience in the music business and she has a roster of talented artistes," he said. "This partnership will allow my label to work with three of the best new rising artistes in dancehall music. Knaxx was featured on the Porous rhythm with a song titled Easy Fi Switch, which came out in June. I'm going to release a bunch of new singles for Knaxx, Sashie Cool and Star Captyn between this month and October."
