Ding Dong, Govana latest to endorse musical cousins
Jayden Speare and his cousin Jevon Gordon say ever since a video of them pretending to be selectors went viral on social media, they feel as if they have been living in a dream.
The Brown's Town, St Ann, boys told TH E WEEKEND STAR that after the buzz their initial video created, which resulted in Stylo G making contact, they continued to post videos of themselves vibing to songs from dancehall artistes. Now two other big names have reached out.
"Mi can't even tell you how me feel. Sometimes me feel like is a dream when me see the likes and the shares and the reposts," said Jayden, who has taken on the moniker, DJ Gush-Gash. "From Stylo G post we, me excited until now. Then Ding Dong post we, and Govana post we. It really make we feel nice miss."
On August 28, Ding Dong reposted a video of the boys on his official Instagram page exposing them to his 920,000 followers.
The boys had been playing his song Watch Dem, and even provided an 'authentic' dancehall intro. The artiste encouraged his followers to pay close attention to the boys in the future. Then earlier this week, when they re-enacted a 'money pull up scene' to the hit single, Likkle Bit A Money, Govana reposted the boys to his 500,000 followers.
He then asked his followers whether the duo deserved a specially cut dubplate. The boys' cousin, Ricardo Brown, who manages their Instagram page, revealed that Govana has since made contact. He said the deejay sent a 'big up' to the boys and told them to keep doing their thing.
"I would never in a million years expect to be texting Stylo G and have him in a contact list and talking with him about getting stuff together for the two young deejays and then Govana. It's been a roller coaster," he said.
