Dancehall Queen and recording artiste Queen Latesha recently returned to the island from her second tour of Europe.

The dancer, who visited places like Paris, Germany, Poland, Austria, Sweden, Finland and Belgium, says she considers herself a cultural dancehall ambassador. During the tour, Queen Latesha hosted over 10 dancehall workshops, in the process, creating history as the first Jamaican dancer-instructor to teach five sessions at the Pina Bausch Tanztheatre in Wuppertal, Germany, which is a reputable contemporary ballet dance company.

"Teaching those lessons in that particular location is unheard of in dancehall, and that goes to show that the music is growing and we are buzzing on the international stage. Its time now for Jamaica to wake up and give us the credit we deserve because dancers are literally helping to cement Jamaica's place on the map where entertainment is concerned," she told The WEEKEND STAR.

The dancer also directed, judged and performed at an event in Germany called the Dun Dem Dancehall World Championship battle.

"I share my talent by teaching and performing real authentic dancehall, and it has been a great inspiration to many. Persons are always intrigued by my vibrant and energetic dance moves that are considered precise and captivating. Others were also astonished when they saw how I could also deejay," she laughed. Queen Latesha, who was introduced to music under the wings of Macka Diamond, is now promoting her single, Throat, a counteraction to Gage's controversial Throat record. She recently launched her own promotions and booking agency and has been working assiduously to promote fellow dancers and recording artistes locally and overseas.

"I have also powered a lot of music videos as it relates to finding suitable locations, preparing the dancers, creating the choreography for the track, suggesting outfits or even getting a director," she said.

She recently released a new single called Please for TP Records/TP Productions on the World Star rhythm. Also featured on the project are Konshens, Macka Diamond, Bling Dawg, Beenie Man, New Kids, among others.

Queen Latesha is booked for Sting 2015 and is gearing up to give an energetic performance.
