Ritchie Nebar, a past student of the Haile Selassie High School, recently donated and installed a state-of-the-art public address system to his alma mater, located along Payne Avenue in Kingston 11.

During one of his regular visits to the island, Nebar, who graduated from the institution in 1978, toured the school and met with Jacqueline Bryan, guidance councillor at the institution. Nebar, who resides in Massachusetts, decided to pool his own resources to obtain the public address system for the school.

"It took more than three weeks to have it installed, but the job was done with the assistance of the students," Nebar said. His goal is to lift the aesthetics and reputation of the school.

"I am a past student of the school and I did well. Students who graduate from here can do well also. I want it to be made known that it is a good school and a place where people can send their children to learn," he said.

According to Nebar, on his next visit he will be organising a staff day, wherein he will invite motivational speakers to address the staff and fIte them.
