Fontana Pharmacy donated has $100,000 to the Ministry of Health to assist in fighting the Zika virus. Fontana Pharmacy also developed an educational flyer about Zika prevention. Minister of Health, Dr Christopher Tufton, expressed thanks for the ongoing support to fight Zika virus as he accepted the cheque during a brief presentation on April 5 in the conference room at the ministry, Grenada Way, Kingston 5.

"I am very grateful for this contribution from Fontana Pharmacy to help in the fight against zika virus as well as all the other partners so far as the government needs all the support it can get. The educational flyer developed will also serve as an additional source of information for the public", Dr Tufton said.

This is not the first time Fontana Pharmacy partnered with the health ministry. In 2014, the company came on board during the Chikungunya outbreak and once again is responding to the call for support to tackle Zika. The educational flyers are being distributed throughout the company's pharmacies islandwide. Additional distribution points are being considered.
