Federal to release movie for Designer Wine
Movie director/recording artiste, Federal, is gearing up to release his dance-inspired movie, 'Designer Wine', in summer of this year.
According to Federal, dancing is a major part of Jamaica's culture, and Designer Wine will further expose that culture to the world.
"Designer Wine is a movie with dancing and basically shows what is going on in Jamaica. The official soundtrack to the film is also called Designer Wine, which is a dance move being promoted by overseas-based reggae/dancehall artiste Dadre Coleman," Federal told Dancer's Paradise. "The dance and song has been doing well in Europe, and we hope the Jamaican fans will finally get on board when the movie is released this summer."
The movie is sponsored by councillor and deputy mayor of Portmore Alric Campbell; Dr Carl Reid; K Star; Sky Scraper promotions and Sharmilias Cozy Corner. Designer Wine is expected to be released in early July and features Federal, Dadre Coleman, K Star, Dr Reid, among other up-and-coming actors.
"I decided to film a movie because as a black man, your brain has to be clicking. I was inspired by the Designer Wine dance move, and I remember how impacting Dancehall Queen was on the world, so I decided that I would make the movie to document dancing and Jamaican music. We have scenes from dancers, politicians and a little rude boy scene," Federal said.
The film features dancers from New Land and the Poochie Crew.
"I just want the people to pay attention. I have good intention and good mind and every good person deserves a strength," Federal said.
The director is also working to establish his artistes, HD Petique and Dadre Coleman. Federal will sell the movie on iTunes as well as DVD.
