Shelly Belly, Bermuda Squad drops new dance
Popular dancer Shelly Belly and the Bermuda Squad have teamed up with dancehall artiste Sanjay for a follow-up to their 'Belleh' dance song, with a new effort called 'Chip Chop'.
Belleh team member/publicist, Lando 'Artistic Genius' O'Connor, said the Chip Chop movement is catching on in dancehall like wild fire.
"Chip Chop has been doing well in the streets, Uptown Mondays, Boasy Tuesdays and all the hot events.
"The dance is special because it's unique, and Shelly Belly made it very simple and catchy," he said.
Known for his acrobatic dance stunts, chain-spinning antics and outlandish hairstyles. Shelly Belly has been getting major attention on social media in recent times, receiving features on popular US blogs like The Shaderoom and Detroit Reggae Source.
He also caught the attention of American rapper 50 Cent, who posted a video to his Instagram page, performing in a dancehall setting.
Shelly Belly's publicist told Dancers Paradise that his main objective is to make dance moves that will cement his name in the same conversation with the greats.
"Shelly Belly is a legend in his own right and we are working to make everybody into a believer. It's a great look and we have a European tour coming up for Belleh and Chip Chop.
We have been getting a lot of support on the radio and I Just want to give a special shout-out to DJ Sunshine and DJ Neil.
Sanjay created the 'Belleh' talk and the whole movement started from there, so we give thanks for that," he told Dancers Paradise.
To catch Shelly Belly and the Bermuda Squad in action, dancehall lovers may attend events such as Uptown Mondays, Boasy Tuesdays and Weddy Weddy Wednesdays, where he is a permanent fixture on their line-up.
Shelly Belly and Sanjay also host a weekly event called Belleh Saturdays.
