Made popular by his 1995 hit single 'Kette Drum', featuring Beenie Man, Determine took his talent overseas after dominating several international charts.

To the casual fan of music, it would appear that the veteran had thrown in his towel as it relates to releasing new music; however, that has never been the case.

According to the artiste, he migrated to the US following his success in the music industry and during this local absence, he took the opportunity to release three albums.

Born Rohan Benett, Determine is now determined to make his official return to the local scene with a brand new EP titled Pull Yuh Pants Up.

The six-track EP is produced by Malikot and is set to be released under New York-based record label Summit Hill Records. The EP will be available for public consumption later this month, and, according to the artiste, the project will rejuvenate his fan base.

"I was performing all across the US and Europe, alongside the world renowned Marley clan, which includes Ky-Mani Marley, Joe Mersa Marley and others. I didn't disappear as many have assumed. I made a strategic decision to take some time away, to focus on writing quality songs and developing my international presence as an artiste, as at times you have to step back to move forward," Determine told THE WEEKEND STAR.

Few recording artistes have managed to have successful commercial careers in Jamaica while residing overseas. With that in mind, the artiste plans to reimmerse himself into the Jamaican culture, so as to give his music a chance to reconnect with the people.

"I now desire to return with the profound objective to revitalise the energy of the music of my era, as well as integrating new, fresh music in the mix. I think the business requires a serious revival of authentic and original dancehall," he revealed to THE WEEKEND STAR.

Determine is slated to return to the island this summer to begin an aggressive promotional campaign. He will be also be making appearances at several major events during the season.

Determine's son, Runkus, has also chosen music as a profession, following his father's footsteps. He, too, has shared stage with the Marleys.
