Testimony : God can do the impossible
What seems impossible with man is possible with God.
This is a statement which many persons can identify with, including the Reverend Johnise Cohen.
Cohen, who has been a servant of God for over 40 years, and who has experienced many miracles during her walk with God, testified that she was told by doctors in Jamaica that she would not be able to give birth.
"Before I got saved, I visited the doctor and I was told that I would not be able to have a child because of multiple fibroids in my womb; and they were very large so they would have to remove my womb, as they would not be able to remove the fibroids because of their size," noted Cohen.
Cohen shared that she was about to get married when the doctors gave her the discouraging news, hence, she had to call off her wedding.
She added that as a teenager, she always wanted to have children, and she did not see herself leaving the church and her relationship with Jesus Christ to get a child.
She eventually got married and went to a doctor in the British Virgin Islands where she currently lives, and was told the same thing as the doctors in Jamaica told her.
"They told me that I would not be able to give birth and they would have to remove my uterus. I was told that I would have had to do surgery immediately. The date was set without my consent. I was also told that the surgery was urgent," she recalled.
The day of the surgery, she told the doctor to save her uterus.
"He said he would try because they were huge and there were about nine of them (fibroids). I turned to him and said, with all due respect, Doctor, you are not God. I serve a God who will be able to do it, and will be able to give me a child," testified Cohen.
Cohen said the surgery was done and she healed, and went back to the British Virgin Islands. A year later something happened. After much prayer and fasting, she trusted God to do the impossible.
"In May of 1992, after having my menstruation and getting so frustrated every month, I heard the Spirit of God saying, 'Give me thanks for that boy child'," she said.
Cohen said the voice of the Lord repeated the instruction and she said, "God I thank you for Jodaine, the name I wanted to give him.
"I took pregnancy test, and to my amazement it gave me a positive result that I was pregnant, and you would not want to see me in that room. I looked up his name and found out that it means 'a gift'," shared Cohen.
God not only gave her one son, he gave her two. She said the impossibility of man is God's possibility, and that God has the final say.
