STAR of the Month : Savage gets up close and personal
It was a STAR takeover on Friday evening when Savage took to the streets of downtown Kingston for one-on-one interactions with his fans.
From the moment he arrived on the scene, several persons gathered around. As if introducing the artiste and the meet-and-greet that was about to take place, a man selling CDs from his customised handcart immediately began playing the artiste's most popular song, Culu Culu.
That was just the beginning of the evening's eventualities as the crowd began to grow in size. Persons, from schoolchildren to the elderly, jumped at the opportunity to engage in light chatter and take pictures with the Jiggle Likkle singer.
A trio of Japanese women going about their business spotted the crowd and stopped to see what the fuss was about. After finding out that Savage was a dancehall entertainer, the group was more than happy to take a photograph with the artiste.
LOVE FOR DANCEHALL
When THE STAR questioned one of the women, she admitted that she didn't really know who the entertainer was, but said she loved dancehall and just had to get involved in the moment.
The entertainer, who dubbed the experience as a fun one, told THE STAR that he always enjoys getting up close and personal with his supporters.
"There is always just something about coming out here, meeting the people and just having a good time. A down-to-earth kind of vibe and mi enjoy it."
