STAR of the Month : Babsy Grange gives Tommy Lee Sparta thumbs up
Minister of Culture Olivia Grange says STAR of the Month Tommy Lee Sparta is one of her favourite artistes.
According to the minister, who has also dabbled in music production, Tommy Lee Sparta, who closed Reggae Sumfest for the first time over the weekend, has been getting his act together.
"Dancehall is a lifestyle. It's not just music, because it speaks to the people's experience. I have different artistes that I admire. I like Tommy Lee. He has a little vibe, and I think he is now getting his act together, and I wish him all the best. I just want to see all artistes do well in their presentation. They don't have to be lewd," she said.
Despite the thumbs up from the minister, Tommy Lee Sparta is still unable to travel to some places due to travel restrictions, which he believes have been laid on his career unfairly by persons in high places.
"They know how much money I make. They know everything about my life. I feel like they put something on my name. Every time I try to travel, they treat me different, like I am some bomber. When they run my passport, Vybz Kartel business come up and everything. They are acting like I am involved in certain things, and pure red lines come up on my documents at the airports. I don't know who did it to my documents," the deejay said.
Tommy Lee Sparta said he has been forced to cancel several overseas engagements due to his travel issues.
