Lloyd Myrie laid to rest

Pall-bearers carry the coffin, bearing the remains of Lloyd Myrie, into The William Knibb Baptist Church yesterday.

The thanksgiving service for Lloyd Constantine Myrie took place at the William Knibb Baptist Church in Trelawny yesterday.

Myrine, 85, died on May 22. His body was interred in the Family Plot in Deeside.

In the eulogy, delivered by Paulette Scarlette, he was remembered as one who loved motor cycles and sports.

Born to Estela Gilchrist and Bert Myrie on May 22, 1932 in Deeside Trelawny, Myrie attended the Hastings All Age School before migrating to England. While in England he worked as a bus driver. Upon his return to Jamaica, Myrie and founded the Trelawny Returning Residents Association which he served as president, secretary and treasurer.
