Several jobs available at Child Development Agency
Are you sensitive to child-care issues? Do you think you have the skills to work with children, some of whom have special needs? If your answer is yes, then you should consider applying for one of 19 posts advertised by the Child Development Agency (CDA).
This government agency, which has the mandate to provide care and protection for children and to promote the integrated development of children in Jamaica, is seeking persons to work as teachers, councellors, groundsmen, drivers, office attendants, and health and social-care officers.
Marlene Gooden, director, human resource management and administration at the CDA, told THE STAR that the agency is looking for persons who are sensitive to the issues faced by children.
"We are looking for people who understand the issues, who understand their roles and who are committed to making a difference in the life of a child," Gooden told THE STAR.
The CDA is now accepting applications for the following:
- Special education teacher (2) St Andrew and Portland
- Counsellor (2) Trelawny and St Elizabeth
- Health & social care supervisor (4) - Portland and St James
- Attendant (4) St James, Clarendon and Trelawny
- Groundsman (2) St James
- Driver (5) - St James, Manchester and Kingston & St Andrew
The employees are being sought for residential facilities that are run by the CDA.
"We are looking for people with integrity, with an understanding of the child-protection landscape and the issues that are affecting our children," Gooden said.
