Teenager held with firearm
Eighteen-year-old Dwight Martin, who was arrested and charged last month with illegal possession of firearm during a joint operation between the Major Organised Crime & Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) and the Ferry police, was remanded in custody until Friday, October 9 when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.
Reports are that on September 20 at about 10:30 p.m., the lawmen conducted an operation along the Mandela Highway, when a public passenger coaster bus was searched. During the search, a 9mm Pistol was found in Martin's possession.
On Friday, the matter was transferred to the Gun Court for further investigations.
