Bail extended for son accused of killing father
A 21-year-old man who is accused of killing his father had his bail extended when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court last Friday.
Negarsh Dawkins, who is charged with the death of his father, Gary, appeared before Resident Magistrate Tara Reid-Carr. His bail was extended until February 9, 2016.
The court was told that the file in the matter is not yet completed. It was revealed that while all witnesses were present, the matter could not proceed.
Allegations are that in February this year, the accused ran down his father and hit him on the head.
After he fell, the accused reportedly hit him repeatedly. He was rescued by residents and taken to hospital where he reportedly succumbed to his injuries.
Police later launched an investigation which resulted in Negarsh being taken into custody.
He was subsequently charged with murder.
He is being represented by the law firm Kinghorn and Kinghorn.
