Man to be sentenced for beating ex-fiancée unconscious

A man who admitted to beating his ex-fiancéec unconscious with a stone will be sentenced in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.


Nasheer Jones, charged with unlawful wounding was remanded in custody until sentencing.

 

In court Jones’ ex-fiancée wept openly as she explained what what happened.

 

“Him lick me with the stone inna me head mek me spin round and knock out,” she said.

 

The judge, Senior RM Judith Pusey asked Jones why he should not be imprisoned for his actions, while noting that the complainant still seems to be suffering from the blow he dealt her.

 

Jones responded saying, “Me sorry fi lick har Your Honour. Me willing fi pay her back the doctor’s money.”

 

But that plea was not substantial enough to move Pusey into granting bail.
