Two illegal firearms seized in separate police operations

The police yesterday seized two illegal firearms in different operations and arrested two persons, including a woman, THE STAR has learnt.


In the first incident, the St. James police arrested and charged 26-year-old Tesia Jenkins who is of a Bounty Hall, Trelawny address.


Reports are that about 4:35 p.m., officers were conducting a Vehicular Check Point operation along the roadway, when the driver of a taxi with four passengers aboard was signaled to stop.


He complied and the vehicle along with its occupants was searched.


Jenkins was found with one Smith and Wesson .40 pistol, a magazine containing two 9mm rounds of ammunition and five .40 rounds of ammunition in a bag.


In the second incident, the Kingston Central police seized a firearm and several rounds of ammunition during an operation on Love Lane about 9:45pm.


Charged is 23-year-old Oshane Wilson of Love Lane, Kingston.


Reports reaching THE STAR is that the police were on patrol when they came upon two men.
