Two women held with cocaine

Detectives in the Manchester Division arrested two women on the Spur Tree main road in the parish for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act on Wednesday.

Reports are that about 11:20 p.m., lawmen were on an operation when a Nissan motor vehicle, in which the women were travelling, was stopped.

The vehicle was searched, and two packages containing cocaine, weighing approximately 4.4 pounds, with an estimated street value of $3.5 million, was seized.

Consequently, both women were arrested. Their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
