Three killed, two injured in St James shooting

Detectives attached to the Montego Bay Criminal Investigation Branch are probing the circumstances surrounding an incident in which three persons were killed and two injured in the Meggie Top community of Salt Spring, St James, on Tuesday.

Dead are: Sandrina Samuels, 18-year-old bartender of Comma Pen, St Elizabeth; 40-year-old Alphonso Foster, otherwise called 'Gigsy' or 'Junior', of Meggie Top in the parish; and 36-year-old Andre Barrett of Church Lane, also in the parish.

Reports are that about 11:30 p.m., all five persons were at a bar when armed men allegedly walked up and opened fire hitting them. The police were alerted, and upon their arrival, the five persons were found with gunshot wounds. They were taken to hospital where three were pronounced dead, and two admitted in serious condition.

Investigations continue.
