Animal, TV, cash stolen during break-in

Police last night appealed for the return of a dog, which was stolen along with several items from a home in Cross Roads, St Andrew.

Police say the dog, a shih-tzu that goes by the name 'Shyann', was stolen along with a 32-inch LG flat-screen television, a Blackberry Curve cell phone, and cash amounting to $10,000.

The Cross Roads police said about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, masked men entered the woman's Camp View Apartments home in Kingston 5, tied her up in a bathroom, and then proceeded to remove the dog and other items.

"The police are now seeking the public's assistance in locating the stolen items, especially the shih-tzu," a release from the Corporate Communication Unit, the information arm of the police, said last night. "Anyone who may have information that can assist is being asked to contact the Cross Roads police at 926-6657 or the nearest police station."
