Police appeal to fraud victims
Detectives attached to the Counter Terrorism at and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) have renewed their call for victims of a scheme in which government and privately owned lands in Dallas Mountain, Papine in St Andrew were being illegally sold and distributed to contact them.
Persons who were allotted lots and/or have paid money to secure lots are again being asked to contact Detective Inspector Andrew Phinn at C-TOC's Fraud Squad by calling 948-5906 or 922-5587 or visiting the C-TOC office at 34 Duke Street, Kingston.
The Fraud Squad is investigating reports that hundreds of persons paid over money towards cutting roads and cleaning plots of land allocated to them or to secure an interest in obtaining lots. It has, however, since come to light that no authorisation was granted to anyone or institution to undertake any such activity.
