Two men killed in Clarendon
The Clarendon police are investigating two separate shooting incidents in the southern part of the parish Tuesday night, which left two men dead.
In the first incident, which occurred around 9:30 p.m. in Hayles Field district in the Race Course area, 35-year-old Ian Reid, otherwise called 'Bad Indian', unemployed of the said community, was shot and killed.
Information received is that Reid was sitting at a shop along the Hayles Field main road, when a lone gunman wearing mask approached and fired several shots, hitting him.
The police were summoned, and on their arrival, he was found lying on the ground with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. He was taken to the Lionel Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The police have confirmed that Reid's murder is drug related.
Several minutes later, the police were again called to an area known as Capture Land in Lionel Town, where a 20-year-old labourer was shot and killed. He was later identified as Ishmael Robinson from the district.
According to the police, citizens reported hearing loud explosions sounding like gunshots and summoned the police. On reaching the scene, the police found Robinson suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was subsequently taken to the Lionel Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation continues as the police follow strong leads in this case.
