Man goes to court drunk
A man who appeared to be drunk when he appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's (RM) Court on Tuesday will have to wait until next week to hear his sentence.
Richard McFarlane, who had pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon, was unable to comprehend what Senior RM Judith Pusey was saying to him as she attempted to sentence him.
The accused man was repeatedly asked to explain
himself, but struggled to do so.
"Mek me tell you what happened!" he exclaimed loudly.
Pusey, who was obviously annoyed, remanded the accused.
"You can't come here before the court drunk, sir," she told the accused.
His sentencing was then postponed until February 22.
