The Electoral Office of Jamaica has confirmed that it completed the recount of  62 of the 63 constituencies.

Speaking at a Press Conference earlier, Director of Elections Orrette Fisher said the recounting of ballots for St Thomas Western is still underway.

He noted that 55 of the 156 ballot boxes for the constituency have been completed so far.

Ballot boxes from the constituency were moved to the EOJ’s head office in Kingston on Sunday, following the tension and crowd at the St Thomas counting venue.

Fisher also confirmed that so far, the count shows 32 seats in favour of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) and 31 in favour of the People’s National Party (PNP).
