St Catherine teen killer pleads guilty to manslaughter
The killer of a St Catherine teenager whose life was cut short six years ago is to be sentenced on March 18.
Jerome Powell, a 23-year-old labourer of Browns Hall District St Catherine, pleaded guilty to manslaughter when he appeared in the St Catherine Circuit Court on Monday.
Powell was charged with the murder of 17-year-old Nikko Johnson, also of Browns Hall.
When he appeared before Justice Bertram Morrison, the court was told that Powell and Johnson had a dispute when a knife was brought into play.
Johnson was stabbed in the abdomen. He died at the Spanish Town Hospital as a result of injuries received.
Powell pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter. He was remanded until March 18 when he is to be sentenced.
