A workman was murdered along the North South Highway in the Linstead, St Catherine area Wednesday morning.

Christopher Marshall, otherwise called “Cell Block”, who was a team leader on the road-building project, was at work with a team of over 20 men who were constructing a stonewall on a section of the highway.

The police said that he was sitting on a concrete median on the roadway when several explosions were heard. It was subsequently discovered that Marshall had received gunshot wounds to the upper body.

He was assisted to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The St Catherine Major Investigation Team has launched a top-level probe into the incident.
