Man charged for abusing police
A man accused of abusing a police officer pleaded guilty to several charges in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.
Twenty-nine-year-old Fitz Colley pleaded guilty to assault occasioning bodily harm, assault at common-law, armed with an offensive weapon, resisting arrest, assaulting a constable, and behaving in a disorderly conduct.
It is reported that earlier this year, the police were alerted that the accused was using abusive language towards persons that lived close to his home and that they felt threatened.
When the police arrived on the scene, Colley allegedly resisted arrest and behaved in a violent manner towards the officers.
The court heard that after officers used force to subdue the accused, he was arrested and charged.
Colley will return to court on March 18 for sentence.
