12-year-old boy drowns in St Catherine

Twelve-year-old Nicholas Maxwell of Waterloo district, St Catherine, is suspected to have drowned in the Rio Cobre River in the parish on Sunday.

Reports from the Spanish Town police are that about 9:07 a.m., residents discovered Nicholas' body floating in the water. Nicholas was taken to hospital where death was confirmed.

The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue pending a post-mortem.

Investigations continue.
